Is there a particular theme or underlying subject that runs through your writing? My junior novel launches on 31st May at BlackCat Paddington, title TBA. I’m working on series of mental health picture books, sequel to Bailey Beats the Blah. To create and publish empowering mental health fiction books for children of all ages.Īre there any other creative projects you are working on you would like to share? I led Logan City Writers (2010-12) and Crit group Logan Genre Writers (2008-13) exchanging critiques and ideas. I completed two six month writing courses at QWC: Year of the Edit and Short Story Development Series.

Upon my return, I write for most of the day. I take a brisk early morning walk, percolating story ideas. DFP is expanding rapidly with three published books in print and eBook formats. I have total control of my own publishing imprint, Digital Future Press. I now write full-time: children’s books and magazine articles for South City Bulletin and Healthline USA. In 2006, I joined Queensland Writers Centre and a local writing group to learn the craft of writing.

I’m an experienced Early Childhood teacher specializing in Gifted & Talented Classes, creative writing workshops and story-telling sessions, with a passion for children’s literature. What draws you to writing for children specifically?
